Velo Valero, the official Friends and Family Cycling Team of Valero Energy Corporation, is partnering with The Playhouse San Antonio on a exciting new fundraiser this year. On July 20th there be be a private showing of Hairspray: The Broadway Musical at the beautiful and historic Russell Hill Rogers Theater. Tickets are available for the low, low price of $50 (adults) and $20 (children 12 years and younger). All proceeds go to our team fundraising for the Bike MS: Valero Ride to the River in October. Doors open at 6:30 pm, when food and a cash bar will be available.

At 7:00 pm our program will start, including a costume contest and a contest for the team that purchases the most tickets to the event. Come dressed in your dancing shoes and your most outrageous 60s clothing, and use as much hairspray as you can handle because prizes for the winner include a pair of tickets to the entire 2017-2018 season of shows at the Playhouse.

And, the team that purchases the most tickets will get $500 applied to its team fundraising!

At 7:30 pm, the show starts and the fun really begins. Come join us for a great night of theater and to support a truly great cause.

Click here to order tickets: bit.ly/2tKd3Jl

If you want to make an additional contribution to our team fundraising, you will be able to do so while purchasing your tickets.

Velo Valero has been a proud and committed supporter of the National MS Society for 20 years. Multiple sclerosis is an unpredictable, often disabling disease of the central nervous system. The National MS Society is a collective of passionate individuals who want to do something about MS now—to move together toward a world free of multiple sclerosis. MS stops people from moving – we exist to make sure it doesn’t.

Our SACA Team Left Hand June training ride is starting from PoPo Restaurant in Boerne. We’re upping our game with some hill training but don’t be shy. We have a shorter out and back route with a “pick your own distance” option and a longer challenging 55 miler out to historic Luckenbach, so all can participate. This is one of my favorite hill country rides. We plan to have SAG support and as always, ice cold Left Hand Beer at the finish. For those who are hankering for some good down home cooking we can meet up for lunch at PoPo afterwards.

Velo Valero led SACA ride from Bullis County Park on Saturday April 29, 2017.

Start times:
44 mile route: Wheels down at 8:00 am
27 mile route: Wheels down at 9:00 am

Look for the Beeline Bikes mobile bike shop van at Bullis on Saturday and get a chance to check out the operation, talk to the guys and provide any needed service to your bike. Beeline Bikes is a new venture to the San Antonio area and is the mobile bike shop affiliate to the new brick and mortar shop, Crossroad Bikes (NE corner of Huebner and NW Military – across NW Military from Walgreens).

Be sure and bring your $5 for the 50/50 Bike MS fundraising raffle!!! And join us at Specht’s Store afterward for lunch – they will be doing a giveback to benefit Bike MS!

Looks like there will be a big cycling crowd at Bullis that Saturday (3 big groups that we know of) – get there early – and get there often – to paraphrase the great voting platitude.

More details, including route maps, at cycling.powweb.com/captain_blog/event/bullis-county-park-10/?instance_id=291
